An Evening with Lilly Camden - continued

As they increase with time their acoustic power and sound dynamic changes… magnificently. Like the finest wine. Nothing can replicate a period instrument…. It has been tried and it doesn’t work… Only the craftsmanship of the masters and time can achieve this result.

Lilly Camden knows all about Violins. For 20 years she has been a professional violinist and performed with some of the world’s finest orchestras in Europe and in Asia.

From Cultural Revolutionary China her talents and ambitions took her to the west and a chance meeting with a man of great distinction, Anthony Camden, former Principal Oboist and Chairman of The London Symphony . A meeting that led to a marriage of great beauty but a sad ending for this union of love and music as Anthony became ill and died in 2006. Perhaps the greatest achievement of all is a lovely little girl called Sasha who is now 11 and as I sit in Lilly’s apartment she returns from school - her second time having come home all by herself. She seems proud she has achieved it. Lilly seems relieved her daughter is home.

Her gentle and refined charm belays that of an astute professional and businesswoman whose eye for talent and the beauty of the instruments she seeks is for passion, hobby and business too.
