Musical Options’ mission is to source the finest vintage stringed instruments, violins and bows from the masters of Europe... Pressenda, Rocca, Guadagnini, Amati, Sartory, Viron... Instruments hundreds of years old and purchased on behalf of foundations, astute investors and benefactors... The instruments - whilst an investment - are loaned to Australia’s finest orchestras and the nation’s most gifted performers.
The ultimate dream... to source and bring to Australia the first Stradivari violin. Antonio Stradivari (1644-1737) is a household name, a byword for craftsmanship of the highest possible quality. There are just around 600 in the world today, the best and the most sought after were made after 1700. Musical Options brings closer the day when the first Golden Period Strad will arive in Australia.
Our benefactors include Ivan Hoffman, Janet Homes à Court. Musical Options and its Director, Lilly Camden work directly with benefactors, the National Instrument Bank and with the Anthony Camden Foundation formed by the Noosa Federation of Arts in memory of Anthony Camden, Ms. Camden’s late husband.
