The Mission - continued

Mr. Ivan Hoffman
The finest violins were made in Cremona, Italy in the 17th and 18th centuries. They produce a tonal quality of great beauty and unrivaled characteristics that is incomparable to any modern violin and take the technical and artistic capabilities of the most prominent performers to their highest possible level. It is not possible for a great artist to achieve the necessary level of performance without such instruments. After performing and practicing with them, artists never play the same way again. It is as simple as that.
“There is more to life than faster cars and bigger houses and boats... This, I believe sends a “signpost” to corporate Australia... a signal that there is a need to be filled..” says Perth based Ivan Hoffman, chairman of the Fortron Group. “The simple fact is that the truly gifted cannot progress their talents without being provided with a fine vintage instrument which they could never afford to purchase”, he says.
Janet Holmes à Court: “These fine very old instruments offer a sound which is incomparable... It is so important that we foster the talents of our young Australian musicians. The finest need the best so they can be the best they can be!”
